Spinal imagery is greatly improved due to multiple options in spine imaging. The first is upright imaging. Spine specialists can now scan the patient with a weight bearing approach and observe the pathology in the most relevant position. Depending on which position causes discomfort, the patient may be scanned while sitting, standing, bending, or lying down. This additional information enables medical professionals to better detect, diagnose, and treat spine pathologies. Flexion, extension, lateral bending, or other positions make available more information needed to diagnose spinal pathologies that traditional MRIs are at great risk of overlooking.
